“ Driving on 75 north from South Florida, we thought that in 2-1/2 hours (Valdosta) we'd be hungry. It was my son's duty to find a place based on positive reviews of course. (Thank you to the previous reviewers). He immediately found Sam's. It's a few miles off the interstate, but what a gem! We met Mr. Sam. What a guy! He allowed us to sample some of his food; the turkey, not dry, smoked perfectly, the pork was SO tasty, the chicken very good, the ribs were crazy good, the greens, baked beans, mac-n-cheese were all amazing! Oh, and the cornbread stuffing...out of this world! Sam's uses a mustard based sauce that we've never experienced before. Neither my son nor myself are into mustard, but it adds such an awesome flavor to all the meat. The portions are large. Everyone at Sam's was so inviting and kind! Sam appears to have been doing the BBQ thing for quite some time. He has a wall filled with trophies from previous cook-offs. You won't be disappointed! ”

We ate at the picnic tables at the park next door but didn’t stay too long because we were in the full sun and the shaded tables were crowded with people who made my kids feel a little uncomfortable. ”

“ I’m from Brazil, and my friend is from Argentina. We love to brag about our steaks and churrasco. We found this location for an American BBQ when visiting Valdosta. And the experience was fantastic! There were great people and an excellent BBQ. We loved everything we tried. Ribs out of this world. They gave us some sausage and beans to try, and it was just as good as everything else. “ This was our first time at Sam’s Carry Out BBQ. We were driving from Florida to NC and stopped here because of the reviews because I love BBQ. They didn’t disappoint and when they found out it was our first time they gave us a sample of everything. My SIL and I couldn’t finish the samples between the two of us. It was all delicious, especially the pulled pork, the sauce (which we bought jars of to take home), pork skins, and the baked beans were my favorite. We ordered two sandwiches to go and the portions were so massive I was so glad I had brought a Tupperware container because we filled it to the rim and we are still eating leftovers three days later. I highly recommend visiting, not only was the food good but everyone was so incredibly nice. Thank you. ”

“ Southern hospitality at its finest. Was on vacation and smelled the bbq from across the street while me and the family were at the GA pecan gift shop. Had to figure out where the mouth watering aroma was coming from, once we found it we were greeted with smiles and a vibe that made you feel like you were home. The owner let us sample their baked beans, ribs, chicken, pulled pork, potato salad, Cole slaw, sausage, rice with mixed in meat and lemonade ( had no idea he was doing this btw lol) and man let me tell you the homemade sauce he makes is out of this world GOOD!!! In my humble opinion I truly feel this is the best bbq I’ve had in my lifetime thus far lol, it is that GOOD! I ended up buying three mason jars of the homemade sauce to take back home. I ended up with the pulled pork plate, half slab of ribs and Mac and cheese with the rice and meat mixed in. Definitely give them a try if in Valdosta. Much love from the Tampa Bay Area. ”
